I saw this article and, I don’t know why, but it felt like the equivalent of the UK receiving a medal of honor. Sending love from Portugal to all the people of the UK. We stand together against any totalitarian and oppressive regime.

Russia has been making the UK its enemy for years.

Maybe they shouldn’t use chemical weapons against UK civilians if they want us to like them.

He’s not “thawing ties” with Russia, he’s “betraying his own country and its allies” to Russia.

Russia pipping Ireland to the post in most UK obsessed nations as of late

Hell yeahhh hated, adored, never ignored. We’re in your heads 24/7, cry more vladi you’ll never have a trophy cabinet like the British Museum, can’t even win one war, you’re the tottenham of countries.

    6. Russia is good at the non-warfare stuff – plausibly deniable cyber attacks, radioactive umbrellas etc. Because we don’t dare retaliate/ escalate. Except this time, we’ll need to

Frankly I am more worried about the lunatics running the country and the perpetual boat people we can’t seem to deport over the russia boogeyman

    8. The BBC recently re-broadcast Threads to show the abject misery of M.A.D and nuclear war.

Russian propaganda channels regularly big up how Russia will drown the UK with a nuclear tsunami bomb and show how they would nuke the US.

Putin and his cabal are the haemorrhoids of humanity

    9. Russia made an enemy out of the UK by brazenly murdering people on its streets with radiological and chemical weapons. And then joking about it. By cyber attacks, by threatening to nuke the UK repeatedly, by invading a sovereign European nation. Russia chose this.

This is why every pound sterling of my tax money that helps fund a storm shadow is money well spent.

The name of the United Kingdom has always stood for freedom and always will.

Would be nice if we could focus on the real problems this country faces instead of having childish spats with the Russians. Housing crisis, fly tipping epidemic, cost of living, crime, economy.

But yeah, let’s manufacture fights with Russia instead.

      Pitiful.

This is overplayed by both the UK and Russia for domestic reasons. For “diplomacy reasons” the British government has not pivoted away from the US in any respect, what they do, we do. We just say a lot of things and take a roundabout way of getting there.

    13. James Bond would be Shaken, not stirred about that fact.

But to be honest, we need to stand against bullies no matter who they are.

City of London be like: I’ll take your rhetoric & raise you €300bn; plus your mother was a hamster & your father smelt of elderberries.

    15. As a french, I’m jealous of you. Being the greatest enemy of ruzzia is an honour.

    16. Well, there’ll be a few mansions in Belgravia up for auction soon. Enough for a few dozen extra storm shadows.

Seize their assets. Shut their embassy. Expel their spies. Have the navy impound their so-called shadow fleet that’s sabotaging European infrastructure.

Pretty sure Russia is still laundering its money through London property (along with other frenemy countries).

And then there’s the Russian connections to a number of members of parliament (I think BoJo the Clown made one a Lord).

    18. I bet there’s a ton of meddling from both sides that never makes the news and neither side ever owns up to…

This makes me fill warm and fuzzy was a Brit.

I’m so happy they’ve turned on us. Means we’re doing something right.

    20. Yeah turns out when you poison people in our country we don’t really appreciate that as a friendly gesture

When they start bitching, we’re doing the right thing. It’s so gratifying, living in their heads rent free.

Kiss kiss bang bang, from The British Empire with love.

    22. We’ve been Russians public enemy number one since about 1830. Even when things were frosty with the Americans they thought we were the string pullers

    23. ReggieTMcMuffin on

Nah it’s nothing new. They’ve thought of us as the worlds worst bogey man since the days of ‘the great game’.

Russia crying about what horrible Russophobes we are and that we are behind every anti Russia plot, has been going on for centuries.

    24. If Putin hates us, we’re doing something right. The guy is a cunt of the highest order.

      Bring it on.

    25. Thebritishdovah on

Oh no! Russia may rattle it’s saber and whine about us. They couldn’t even take on Ukraine and got exposed as a rather shite miltary. Granted, Ukraine is being heavily supported but Russia boasted about having a state of the art army. They are bogged down and going through soldiers faster then my XCOM Impossible run.

    26. fyi Britain isnt the new public enemy no1 of Russia. A lot of vatniks are mad conspiracy theorists who think previously the queen and an anglo-saxon cabal were the cause of all the worlds troubles
