I was in Madrid on vacation during last summer and I rented a car

A few days ago I got a notice in the mail saying that I have a penalty for being in the center of the city… Without some permit…

I’m trying to log into pay but it says
    >The login attempt failed

I will try to email them to sort this out

Question is if I don’t pay how long will this haunt me for

And I imagine the penalty would only grow

And next time I arrive into Spain it might be under records?

And who knows, I might get arrested until I pay the penalty?

Also imagine this might linger on for a decade or two and then go away…

Any info on this is very much appreciated

If you don’t pay a Vatican fine, good luck getting the pope to bless you and send you to heaven.

In all seriousness, the fine will only be enforced in the Vatican, so the next time you’re there, you’re going to be in trouble. For your own peace of mind, just try to pay the fine. The sooner you pay, the cheaper it is.

    2. You won’t go to jail until you pay. AFAIK there is no jail penalty for not paying a fine in Spain.
If you want to be a good citizen and keep mind peace, pay and forget. If you don’t agree with the fine, use that knife to deliver justice!
