Legendary saxophonist Scott Page, known for his work with Pink Floyd, Supertramp, and Toto, will be visiting Christchurch this April for a unique series of events that bring together international musical expertise and local New Zealand talent.
The Exchange Christchurch Charitable Trust and The Cetacea Foundation are collaborating to present two headline events: an exclusive creative business masterclass and an intimate concert featuring Page performing alongside some of New Zealand’s most accomplished musicians.
“This collaboration represents a significant opportunity for cultural exchange between an iconic international musician and New Zealand’s vibrant creative community,” says Mango Dogwood, event organizer. “Scott’s willingness to share both his musical and business expertise makes this a truly unique occasion for Christchurch.”
Page, whose career spans five decades including tours with Pink Floyd during their Momentary Lapse of Reason and Division Bell eras, will lead the Space in Time: A Creative Business Masterclass on April 8th at The Piano: Centre for Music and the Arts. The masterclass, which will open the stage for students, educators, and professional musicians alike, will begin with a deep dive into Scott’s colorful career. He’ll then share his revolutionary SPACE framework for building a sustainable career as an independent artist in our rapidly changing world of AI, Crypto, and Quantum Computing — knowledge typically inaccessible to New Zealand’s artistic community.

The following evening, Beyond Time: A Night with Scott Page will transform a heritage venue into an immersive concert experience. Supported by the Mary Hush Collective, this venue will be turned into a living immersive art piece co-created by dozens upon dozens of New Zealand’s most talented creatives. Limited to just 300 attendees, this intimate setting will feature Page performing Pink Floyd classics alongside New Zealand musicians including musical director Michael Sutherland, Nikau Te Huki of Casual Healing, Finn Mitchell-Anyon, Khailana, Phil Gadsby, Jono Black (DOCJOC), award-winning operatic singer Calla, creating a once-in-a-lifetime sonic journey.
“What excites me most about coming to New Zealand is the opportunity to connect with the incredible musical talent there,” says Page. “Sharing these creative moments across continents and musical traditions is what keeps music alive and evolving.”
The events emphasize fair compensation for all participating New Zealand artists, establishing a precedent that values creative work appropriately while building lasting connections between international and local music scenes.
To further support this commitment to fair compensation, two special initiatives have been launched:
“We’ve partnered with The Arts Foundation’s Boosted platform to run an official fundraising campaign dedicated to ensuring all artists, organizers, technicians, and support staff receive appropriate compensation for their contributions,” says Mango. “Additionally, we’re conducting a one-of-a-kind raffle for a saxophone that will be both played by Scott during the show and personally signed and engraved by him afterward—truly a collector’s piece.”
Details about the saxophone raffle will be announced this week. Those interested can stay updated by joining the event pages on Facebook or visiting the Boosted campaign.
Tickets for both events are available through Under The Radar, with early bird pricing already nearly sold out.
