The Food and Veterinary Agency of North Macedonia announces that over 40 tons of unsafe food have been destroyed from an illegal warehouse in Skopje.

The AUV says that the MIA also found 360 kilograms of meat products and sweets in a goods transport vehicle, which were also destroyed, the report says. TV 21.

“Following the notification from the Ministry of Interior that an illegal food warehouse is operating in the Maxhari neighborhood in Skopje, the Food and Veterinary Agency (AVV) in cooperation with the police conducted an extraordinary inspection of an illegal facility where food of animal and non-animal origin was stored. In the facility that served as a food warehouse, which is not registered with the AUV as an operator, the Agency’s inspection services found 40.751 kilograms of unsafe products (dried meat and sweets), for which a decision has been issued and which have been destroyed,” the AUV says.
