The USC Trojans are stockpiled with talent ahead of 2025. But learned a major portal decision involving one prized four-star signing.

Cornerback Maliki Crawford announced his entry into the transfer portal Monday on X. Crawford arrived as a prized local signing out of Oxnard powerhouse Pacifica High. He also revealed how many years of eligibility he has left.

“With four years of eligibility I will be officially entering my name in the NCAA Transfer Portal,” Crawford began. “I want to thank the University of Southern California for the experience and growth and will hold my time at USC in high regards. With that said, I’m excited to embark on my next chapter!”

Crawford signed with USC’s 2023 class. He was the nation’s No. 14 ranked CB in the nation by 247Sports. Crawford even drew comparisons to NFL CB Kevin King of the Atlanta Falcons by 247Sports national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins.

Crawford arrived as an early enrollee for the spring 2022 semester. But he eventually took a redshirt season. Crawford never recorded any stats during his time with the Trojans.

With Crawford on his way out, USC could now see one newcomer rise to starter. Alex Graham is one freshman practicing during the spring. He’s credited for his versatility in playing CB, safety and nickel. Graham would be in the mix to replace Jaylin Smith, who’s preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Trestin Castro is another young CB who could shark his way up the USC roster. The Upland High star joins Graham in helping comprise the 2025 class.
