These state-of-the-art helicopters will join Search and Rescue Services’ (SRSL) existing fleet of H145 and BK117 aircraft, further enhancing its ability to serve communities across New Zealand.

The H145 is known for its reliability, versatility, and advanced technology. With its Safran Arriel 2E engines, spacious cabin, and Helionix avionics suite, the H145 is well-equipped for the demanding conditions of emergency medical services in Australasia. It also features some of the lowest CO2 emissions among its peers.

The H145 helicopter features advanced technologies such as a modern cockpit design with an updated human-machine interface, the Helionix avionics suite, and a Fenestron anti-torque device in place of a traditional tail rotor. The Helionix avionics, connected to the wACS, offers in-flight envelope protection, pilot assistance, and improved data transfer efficiency. It also meets current international avionics standards and includes an alerting and self-monitoring system

The US Federal Aviation Administration recently granted GPMS International supplemental type certification for its health and usage monitoring system on the Airbus H145 D2 and D3 platforms.
