Lancers squeak past Raiders

After letting a two-run lead slip away in the top of the seventh, Edinburgh rallied for the winning run in the bottom of the frame to come away with a 3-2 victory over South Ripley on Tuesday. Kenna Streeval struck out 13 while scattering three hits across a complete game in the pitching circle; Streeval and Gracie Barrett drove in runs for the Lancers (2-1).

Trojans defeat Tigers

Brooklyn Groppel was 3 for 3 with a pair of RBIs as Class 4A No. 4 Center Grove earned a 6-1 home win over Fishers. Mae Munson and Brynn Meyer added two hits apiece for the Trojans (2-0), while pitcher Sarah Riley pitched a three-hitter, fanning 10 Tigers.

BASEBALL

Warriors hammer Olympians

Whiteland broke open a close game with a three-run fourth inning on the way to a season-opening 8-2 win at Columbus East on Tuesday. Peyton Dickens drove in a pair of runs and Maalik Perkins scored three times for the Warriors, while Perkins and Peyton Wingfield combined to pitch a four-hitter.

Edinburgh falls in opener

Edinburgh got its season started with a 9-1 home loss to Rock Creek Academy. Cole White had the Lancers’ only two hits, with Braiden Dewey scoring the lone run.

SWIMMING

Register for Franklin Swim League

Franklin Swim League has opened registration for its 2025 spring season. Sessions will take place at the Franklin Community High School pool on Mondays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. during the five-week season (April 21 to May 21).
