These are the two MPs expected to chair the constitutive session on April 15th.

    Constitutive session of the new legislature of the Assembly, which is assigned by President Vjosa Osmani to be held on April 15, will be chaired by two MPs, the oldest and the youngest in the hall, reports KosovaPress.

    In this session, the new Speaker of Parliament is expected to be elected, with the largest parliamentary group having priority in proposing the new Speaker and being elected with a majority of votes of the Assembly members.

    From the new legislature, the Vetëvendosje Movement MP, Avni Dehari, is the oldest, at 78 years old, while the youngest MP is Sala Jashari, 25 years old from the Democratic Party of Kosovo.

    Dehari has managed to secure the votes to become a deputy for the second time in the February 9 elections from the Vetëvendosje Movement party. Meanwhile, Jashari has run for and been elected as a deputy of the Kosovo Assembly for the first time.

    In the February 9 elections, MP Avni Dehari received over 90 thousand votes. While MP Sala Jashari was voted for by over 35 thousand citizens.

    Eugen Cakolli from KDI, confirming, emphasized that “As far as we have information, Avni Dehari and Sala Jashari are MPs who will lead the constitutive session.”

    The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, after certifying the final results of the elections for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, held on February 9, 2025 and in accordance with constitutional authorizations and legal deadlines, has called the first meeting of the ninth Legislature of the Assembly of Kosovo for April 15, 2025, the Office of the Presidency announces, transmits KosovaPress.

    After the constitution of the Assembly, the process of forming the Government begins. According to the Constitution, the President is obliged to propose a candidate for Prime Minister to the Assembly, after consultation with the party or coalition that has won the majority.

    The parliamentary elections were held on February 9 and the results were certified by the CEC last week. Based on these results, LVV came first with 48 MPs, PDK second with 24 MPs, LDK third with 20 MPs and AAK-NISMA fourth with 8 MPs.
