“National treasure” Jack Black left Kelly Clarkson’s viewers in tears after he dropped by the show to surprise his number one fan, Love on the Spectrum’sTanner Smith.
In a video of the “wholesome moment” uploaded to her eponymous talk show’s official TikTok account on Thursday, April 3, Clarkson called back to Tanner’s previous visit to the show, when Black sent him a personalized video.
Before the School of Rock actor made his grand entrance, she pretended that he’d sent a brand new video to her guest.
“What’s up, Tanner?” Black said in a, yet unknown to Tanner, live video from backstage, sharing that he “cannot wait to meet [him] in person.”
He pretended that his press tour for A Minecraft Movie was keeping him out on the road before calling on his “insane ninja kung fu powers” to send him right through the stage doors.
“Tanner, I’m here right now!” he yelled as he ran through them, and Tanner was on his feet in seconds, crying, “Jack, it’s you!”
“Jack, I’m so excited to meet you!” he continued as they threw their arms around each other, leading to a giant smile from the actor.
The two continued to hug as Tanner gushed over the Tenacious D singer, complimenting both his acting and his musical talents.
Black returned the praise, telling Tanner, “I love you on the show and I can’t wait for the next season…And to meet you in person is really amazing for me, too.”
“Yeah Jack, it’s really amazing for me too!” Tanner agreed, before thanking the host for setting it all up.
“Thank you so much, Miss Kelly…this is the best day of my life!” he confessed—and reiterated in a comment on the video: “BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!”
Fans couldn’t control their emotions over the touching moment, with one openly admitting to being “a weeping mess right now.”
“Am I crying over someone meeting Jack Black??? 😭😭,” another questioned, as another called specifically on the “way he just ran into his arms” as the reason they were “crying.”
“so i’m sobbing. tanner is just so pure 😭✨,” another wrote, while someone else declared the actor to be “a national treasure.”
“KELLY CLARKSON: DREAM MAKER,” another fawned over the host, as someone also called both celebrities “so amazing for doing this for Tanner 🫶.”
“Oh gosh! It’s so lovely when celebrities acknowledge the impact they have on people’s lives and embrace it,” another added. “What a wholesome moment for Tanner.”
