The Democratic Union for Integration has reacted after Albania, Kosovo and Croatia signed a memorandum for military and industrial cooperation, with positive effects on their economies, while North Macedonia remained outside this initiative.
The DUI raises questions about why this decision was made, when regional security is at a critical moment.
Full reaction:
Albania, Kosovo and Croatia signed a memorandum for military and industrial cooperation, with positive effects on their economies as well.
Meanwhile, North Macedonia remained outside this important regional initiative.
Did we forget?
Were we excluded?
Or did this government refuse to be part of the process?
At a critical moment for regional security, when our Euro-Atlantic allies are strengthening the defense of the Western Balkans, North Macedonia is moving in the opposite direction.
Instead of deepening the alliance with NATO and Western partners, the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense are getting closer to Belgrade and its allies.
While the governments of the region are clearly moving towards Euro-Atlantic values, some ministers of this government are regular guests at receptions at Russian and Chinese embassies, while others participate in state ceremonies that are openly against NATO, the alliance of which we are full members.
Why is Vlen silent?
Is this the direction they have chosen for the state?
Why are we moving away from our strategic and natural partners?
This is not only a major failure of the government, but also a betrayal of North Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic future.
“As a party that guaranteed the country’s Euro-Atlantic integration, we will raise this issue in Parliament and before our international partners, demanding full transparency on the reasons why North Macedonia was excluded from this strategic cooperation,” the DUI said in its response.
