







April 9th is the day of tragedy and a holy day. 36 years ago today russian troops brutally dispersed peaceful demonstration of Georgians resulting in death of 21 people, in 1991 the same day restoration of independence was declared by first president Zviad Gamsakhurdia.

Don’t tell me stories, asshole. The troops were not Russian. In 1989, Russia did not exist.
Wouldnt “soviet” be more accurate?
Many of this people died because of crush on protest and asphyxiation by chemicals and crowd. 3 of them died of brain traumatic injury.
Were there any anti ethnic pogroms in Tbilisi during this time?
I was there but left day earlier, but my colleague, stayed there and she was amongst one who was killed. And ironically, she worked at a plant which manufactured soviet military equipment…
