I bet you a cookie someone comments something like ‘Yea but house prices are still too high so screw Labour’ or ‘Yea but my gran had an operation and her arm still aches so Kier Starmer obviously wants her dead’.

    2. You know what would be funny in a tragic kind of way, Labour spend years fixing the mess just for the tories or reform to get in and fuck it all up again.

Typical post 2008 UK, please I beg prove me wrong.

    3. This is great news obviously, but why? Is this a result of specific policy decisions made by the new government? Or external factors, eg coming out of winter?

    4. Wow well done labour.

Not even 1 year in power and they have accomplished more than the Tory accomplished in 14 years.

    5. It’s encouraging to see NHS waiting lists slightly decrease, but with 7.43 million patients still awaiting treatment, it’s crucial that the government and NHS prioritize reducing these numbers further.

    6. In 6 months Labour have brought the NHS wait lists down, got the GPD growing faster than in the past 15 years, have quintupled private investment and have brought back strong military spending.

But all you see in the media is how Starmer hates grannies…..

      Love this country.

      It’s a start I guess but it’s about 25 thousand out of 7.4 million.

A more telling statistic would be how many extra operations they have performed compared to the same time last year.

About 40, 000 people die every month and I’d hazard a guess that most of them were on a waiting list.

    8. Yes, Labour have done this.

But Reform have a significant percentage of MPs who beat women.

It’s a really hard choice for some people.

    9. Fantastic. I’m currently on a 3 year waiting list presumably close to the bottom, this gives some hope!

Waiting lists down, GDP growth 5x the expectations in February, gotta give Labour a pat on the back every once in a while.

Waiting lists will go back up again soon with the new budget. It’s sent a major blow to Trusts across the country. Mass redundancies are underway for essential staff because trusts have been told to cut their costs down to 2022 levels and increase productivity by 15% with less budget. More work for everyone else who is left after the mass culling.

Totally anecdotal but after a year of waiting my operation has now been scheduled. Very happy about that. I appreciate the work that’s gone into mine and others being scheduled.

    13. I had a blonde moment and thought the title was saying 7.4 minutes. Which is amazing.

      Still, progress is progress.

Easy to cut waiting lists when no-one is put on them to begin with.

When can doctors investigate properly again?

When can police investigate properly again?

When can the judges sentence properly again?

      Oh well.

    15. One of my friends works at a NHS call centre in York where his entire job is ringing people who have been on various waiting lists for over 6 months and asking them if they want to go private or not. If they say yes be gets to take them off the list.

So I’m. A bit sceptical about his much of this drop is people actually being seen and treated

    16. It’s an absolute joke, the reason these waiting lists are dropping is because they’re stopped putting people on them.

My mums been waiting for a hip for 2 years on the NHS, they moved her to another surgeon, as the one she was under is now only doing private work. And with this comes a different medical secretary for the surgeon, they’ve verbally told her she’s on the waiting list and the lists are all being worked out in priority with patients being slotted in. (This has been for 9 months).
Turns out she isn’t on an ‘official’ waiting list and just a list run by the secretaries of the surgeon where they’re trying to slot patients in. We only found this out after requesting her medical files.

So, the reason these waiting lists are lower, is because there’s a secretarial waiting list before the waiting list and they’re not putting people on.. as ridiculous as that sounds.

It’s all a joke & it makes me so angry. The surgeons are picking & choosing when they want to do NHS work when they don’t have more money coming in at their private clinics.
