The Israeli Air Force (IAF), represented by Squadron 122, joined the international “Iniochos” air exercise in Greece, hosted by the Hellenic Air Force. The drill, held last week, included aircraft and units from nations like Qatar, focusing on air combat, air-to-ground strikes, countering advanced missile threats, and varied combat scenarios.

Squadron 122, operating “Eagle” reconnaissance aircraft, contributed to the exercise’s goal of boosting strategic ties with foreign militaries, enhancing readiness, and challenging aircrews in unfamiliar environments with evolving threats, according to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit.

    Deepening Israel-Greece Military Ties
Israel and Greece have been strengthening defense cooperation, with talks in late 2024 exploring a €2 billion anti-aircraft and missile defense system for Greece. Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias emphasized modernizing Greece’s armed forces, while former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant highlighted the alliance as a counter to Iran’s “axis of resistance.”

“Israel and Greece stand together for regional stability,” Gallant said, signaling unity to both allies and adversaries.
