Kosovo’s acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Makedonci, has said that Bulgaria is ready to join the military agreement signed between Kosovo, Albania and Croatia.
The Macedonian has also said that he expects other countries in the region to join this agreement, especially those that share the same values.
“We have confirmation from Bulgaria, which has previously discussed with the Croatian minister the possibility of joining this trilateral agreement, but I fully believe that other countries in the region, especially those that share common values with us and that normally also share common interests, because values alone are not enough, will join this agreement, let’s say in this declaration, which, I emphasize once again, always aims at peace, stability and security,” the Macedonian declared to TRT Balkan, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.
On March 18, Kosovo, Albania, and Croatia signed a military alliance agreement, which also prompted reactions from Serbia.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that this is a violation of the subregional arms control agreement from 1996.
But officials from Kosovo, Albania and Croatia have denied that this agreement is hostile in nature to the neighbors.
