LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Delta Star, a leading transformer manufacturer in Lynchburg, is set to expand its operations with a $35 million investment, creating 300 new jobs in the region. The 80,000-square-foot expansion aims to meet the global demand for sustainable energy solutions and bolster the state and local economy.

Megan Lucas, CEO and chief economic officer of the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance, emphasized the significance of the expansion. “It is a competitive advantage,” Lucas said. “It tells our story about this is a region with a workforce, with the talent and the resources to support such an important sector as energy.”

This marks Delta Star’s second major expansion in two years, following a previous project that generated approximately 145 jobs. The company currently employs around 600 people.

The new positions will include roles in manufacturing, engineering, and operational support. Construction is slated to begin this fall and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
