In Tbilisi, the city map reflects a striking gap in public recognition. While 57 percent of streets are named after men, only 7 percent bear the names of women. The remaining streets are named after geographical locations, events, or other neutral references.

  1. i understand the point they’re trying to make, but it’s kind silly. like it or not, with few exceptions women have only been able to be recognized for doing _anything_ in the last century or so. so this graph reflects history – which you can’t change.

in contrast: the fact that there are _so many_ women on there is uplifting, i would say.

  2. Too bad Georgia is not like Ukraine, we gotta throw them over. We cannot do that right now, so we have to maintain that Georgia is somehow bad.

Why a circular shape with random colored dots? There’s no way to infer anything from the underlying data in this plot other than there are generally more dots of one color than the other.
