So first person to plant a flag on mercury immediately becomes wealthiest person in history. Exactly how hard would it be to launch a flag on an interplanetary journey? Does mercury have enough atmosphere to cause reentry heating or can I stick an unfurled flag outside earths gravity well and hope to stick the landing on mercury? I might have to launch a few flags but they are pretty light.

It’s worth remembering that diamonds are just carbon crystals (not unlike graphite) and their value is completely arbitrary. It is possible to grow them in a lab in a relatively inexpensive way.
