Nominations are due by May 15 for the Health Law Section’s new “Top 10 Under 40” list, a program designed to celebrate outstanding young lawyers who are shaping the future of health law in Florida.
The “Top 10 Under 40” designation will recognize 10 Florida-licensed attorneys under the age of 40 who have demonstrated excellence in their professional achievements, meaningful contributions to community service, and committed service to the legal profession — particularly within the field of health law.

“This program will highlight the achievements of young, influential individuals who have made significant contributions to their fields,” said Health Law Section Chair Jamaal R. Jones of Jones Health Law in Miami. “We hope this distinction inspires others, offers well-deserved recognition to the honorees, and opens doors for increased visibility, collaboration, and opportunity.”
Honorees will be announced in The Florida Bar News, in the Health Law Section’s newsletter, and across social media platforms. In addition, they will be celebrated during a formal awards presentation at the Health Law Section Executive Council meeting in June during the Annual Florida Bar Convention in Boca Raton.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be under 40 years old at the time of nomination.
- Must have been licensed to practice law for 15 years or less.
- Must be a Florida-licensed attorney in good standing with The Florida Bar.
- Must be a member of the Health Law Section.
Self-nominations with one attorney reference and peer nominations by fellow Florida-licensed attorneys are accepted. Each nomination must include a copy of the nominee’s resume or CV.
“This is about more than just recognition,” Jones added. “It’s about spotlighting the next generation of legal leaders in health law — those who are not only excelling professionally but also making a real impact in their communities and on the profession as a whole.”
