President Vjosa Osmani has said that the legacy of Pope Francis, who died on Monday, will live on in the countless lives he has touched.
She said that the people of Kosovo join millions of people in mourning the death of the Pope.
“The people of the Republic of Kosovo join millions of people around the world in mourning the death of His Holiness, Pope Francis – a voice of compassion, humility and justice in our time. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched. We stand with all those who carry forward his enduring message of hope, peace and human dignity,” Osmani wrote on the “X” platform.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti also expressed condolences on the Pope’s death, saying that his legacy of humility, justice, and compassion will continue.
“On this Easter Monday – a day of hope and renewal for Christians around the world – we mourn the death of His Holiness Pope Francis. His legacy of humility, justice and compassion will continue. On behalf of the people of Kosovo, I express our deepest condolences. May he rest in peace,” Kurti wrote.

The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, has also reacted to the Pope’s death.
“Farewell, Holy Father, great and unforgettable friend of Albania,” he wrote on Facebook.

Pope Francis died on Monday, April 21, at the age of 88. The pope died a few weeks after being released from a Rome hospital after facing a bout with pneumonia.
