Fantastic news! Now sort out consumer charging so we don’t get utterly screwed please.

thats a good reason to raise price due to low income.

Awesome, those 6 days of summer are really going to help.

Great stuff. Now install heat pumps, batteries and solar panels on every new build.

Demand is expected to fall to levels last seen in covid.
In the UK at least the era of carbon is rapidly drawing to a close. 4% fall last year, what seems to be another large fall this year. Thats the beginning of the end for it.

Solar is going to be great for removing air conditioning demand from the grid. There’s always a good correlation between that demand and solar production.

Electricity bill will be about £50 this month after the export from our panels and overnight force-charging for the battery. Next month we should be about £0 as the export will cancel out the usage, and then June/July/August they’ll be paying us. Wish we had more sunshine but we definitely maximise what we do get!

I got my panels installed (5.7kw no battery) just before avro and the other energy companies went bust
It was priced to pay back over 6 years at 10p/kwh
Within three months octopus was paying up to £1kwh. and they paid themselves off in 18 months!
These days I pay 0 to octopus (averaged out over the year) that’s with them paying roughly 1/3rd what they charge, I’m on agile export so the actual export price varies every 30 mins
I would suggest that fitting panels be job number 1 on any new house. They increase the value of the house by roughly their cost too

Great, now prepare for regular demand for this winter.

Except this isn’t from National Grid – NESO separated from National Grid last year.

So they can start reducing the BS daily connection charge finally?

Low demand? This obviously means electricity prices will tumble….
