The leader of the Together Movement, Arlind Qori, has harshly criticized Prime Minister Edi Rama’s approach towards Kosovo, calling it unfair and motivated by personal interests and political opportunism.
In an interview with “Interaktiv” on Tuesday, Qori expressed that the emotional and historical connection with Kosovo is deep, both in a personal and political sense, emphasizing that the Together Movement includes many activists of Kosovo origin.
“I have always been critical of the Rama government for this injustice in relation to Kosovo. You cannot be the prime minister of Albania and orient the state’s position depending on personal relations with the prime minister of Kosovo,” Qori said.
He added that Rama often acts as a political opportunist who, in order to score points in the eyes of internationals, does not hesitate to cooperate closely with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, calling this a “political dishonesty.”
“Corrupt politicians may wave the Albanian flag when they feel like it, but they act as opportunists at every turn. We, on the contrary, bring honesty, courage and commitment to justice to politics,” he declared.
Qori and his party Lëvizja Bashke will run for the first time in the May 11 parliamentary elections in Albania. He expressed optimism about the outcome, saying that citizen support is growing and that the result will be better than in the local elections.
Qori ran for mayor of Tirana for the first time in the 2023 local elections. In these elections, he won 13,851 votes, which constituted 4.77% of the votes, ranking as the third political force in this municipality. This percentage secured the Together Movement a mandate in the Tirana Municipal Council, which is held by member Mirela Ruko.
