### Georgia’s GDP Up by 9.5% in February 2024
Georgia’s estimated real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate amounted to 9.5% for February 2024 compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Manufacturing, construction, professional scientific and technical activities contributed significantly to growth. Declines were registered in energy, mining and quarrying activities.

### Russian Court Sentences Georgian Citizen in Absentia in Connection with Crimean Bridge Explosion
Alexandre Inasaridze sentenced to two months of preventive detention. In absentia convicted in absentia Vasyl Maliuk, head of the Security Service of Ukraine, who admitted to the involvement of Ukraine in the attack in July 2023. ### Judicial Conference Condemns “Vetting”, Elects Two to HCoJ
The XXXII Conference of Judges of Georgia, a self-governing body of Georgian common courts, “unanimously supported” the statement made by the Supreme Court of Georgia on March 11, denouncing the initiative to check the integrity of judges through extraordinary “vetting” mechanism. ### Another Georgian Fighter Killed in Ukraine
Tengiz Chania, 48, was killed by a Russian shell explosion near the Ukrainian city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. He fought in the war in Abkhazia (1992-1993) and in the Russia-Georgia war (2008) The latest casualty brings to 47 Georgian citizens who have died fighting in Ukraine since Russian invasion on February 24.
