Almost like a European… Union. We should invite more countries, have our own currency and everything.
This was tried in the past. It was called “La Union Iberica.” Felipe II, king of Spain, intervened in Portugal claiming a right to the throne after the king of Portugal died. It lasted from 1580 to 1640 and is a big reason a large influx of Portuguese migrants ended up in Puerto Rico.
