Taking the first steps toward better mental health isn’t always easy, but NAMI Collier ensures nobody has to do it alone.
NAMI Collier, a branch of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, serves mental health needs in Collier County free of cost.
The organization held its annual “Hope Shines” walk at Arthrex’s Naples campus. The event was sponsored by media partners Gulfshore Life and the Naples Press.
WINK News anchor Corey Lazar emceed the walk under sunshine and balloon arches. The evening featured live entertainment from the Back Country Boys, delicious food trucks, family-friendly games, and a mile-long walk promoting mental health awareness.
“It touches everyone, and our programs are no cost and no wait list,” said Beth Hatch, CEO of NAMI Collier.
“It’s just really a family event. Everybody can celebrate and talk about mental health, because when we talk about it, that changes everything,” said Hatch.
NAMI Collier offers programs for everyone from toddlers to seniors and veterans.
