Retail sales in Greece advanced by 4.6% year-on-year in February 2025, accelerating from an upwardly revised 2.3% rise in the previous month.
This marked the steepest growth in retail sales since June 2024, driven by higher sales for food products (6.5% vs 6.1% in January) and a strong rebound in sales for automotive fuel (6.6% vs -7.9%).
On the other hand, sales grew at a slower pace for the non-food sector, except automotive fuel (3.0% vs 4.0%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail activity advanced by 1.7% in February from a 1.1% gain in the preceding period.
