GENEVA — The Geneva Business Improvement District this week is bringing back its First Friday extravaganza, described as “a monthly community event series that aims to boost downtown foot traffic and celebrate the rich artistic and cultural life of Geneva.”
The new incarnation of First Friday begins May 2, from 5-9 p.m., and will continue on the first Friday of each month through September.
First Friday encourages the community to explore the culture, stores, restaurants, unique cocktail bars, and event spaces in downtown. In addition, the Dove Block kicks off a new art exhibit every month that includes live music.
“First Friday is more than just a fun night out for the community and visitors. It’s an economic development tool that supports our small businesses while highlighting Geneva’s vibrant arts scene,” BID Executive Director Catherine Price said.
Some of the highlights this Friday:
- Lake Drum Brewing — Live music by Charlie Reitz from 4-6 p.m.
- Vinifera — Happy Hour from 5-7 p.m.
- Total Recall — $5 Fridays in the arcade from 5-8 p.m.
