    > The disgraced teacher reported herself to safeguarding bosses at the school in February 2024, stating she had “inappropriate feelings” for the pupil.

    > She admitted to having feelings for the student, and stated to the Teaching Regulation Agency Professional Conduct panel that she and the student were both feeling very “wrapped up in one another”.

    > Lanning said in her written submissions: “I remember at the time I just wanted to give [them] all of me and wanted [them] to think I was amazing.”

    > In a written statement in January 2025, Lanning admitted that her feelings towards the student were “not normal”, but she did not speak to anyone out of fear for being judged.

Kudos to her realising that she has gone too far and reporting herself. Have to respect her for that.

Why are the women that do this always good looking? There’s definitely a measurable correlation there..

No prosecution means the pupil was 18 or over. Its inappropriate for sure and that’s why the action has been taken as it has.

But no arrest or prosecution means the pupil was not under 16 (or 16/17 and under her “position of trust”)..

Either that or this is a serious failure by prosecuting authorities. I’m sure many will say ” two tier, what if this was a male” but a male teacher with a female 18 year old pupil would face the exact same outcome.

She did the right thing and self reported, shes removed herself from ever putting pupils or herself in that position ever again.

The self reporting also means all the the evidence (a literal confession) was present to prosecute her if the pupil was under 18. And that hasn’t happened.

Imagine the genders were reversed. Can you imagine any scenario in which the guy would avoid jail?

Normally I’m fully on the sentence them to the max train of thought but a) I suspect this student was 18 or over, b) she reported herself c) this sounds like some silly infatuation and I’m glad they came to their senses before anything really bad went on.

Providing I’m right, this was a proportional punishment

‘Rippledale is an independent day school and college **for students with learning difficulties**.’

    No prosecution. Weird.

  7. Lol She’s allright, Lemmie know when she has an OF up cause she can’t teach anymore.

Apparently the pupil had learning difficulties, so she was likely not allowed to form a relationship.

    Shitty situation.

The student was likely of consensual age, but that doesn’t excuse the teacher. Glad she eventually had the wherewithal to hand herself in.

Doesn’t paint her in the best light, but not worth the rage headlines are trying to envoke.

I know what she did was wrong. However I can’t help but think where on earth was this teacher when I was at school

How many female teachers are doing this bullshit? Every single day there is a new article about this. It’s become an epidemic at this point
