Avdi Hoti was elected by a majority of votes as the new president of the Kosovo Police Union, while Edita Azemi received the confidence of the delegates for the position of vice president at the premises of the “Qendra” Police Station in Pristina on Saturday, where the 5th Electoral Assembly was successfully held.

    In his welcoming speech, the president of the Union of Independent Trade Unions (BSPK), Atdhe Hykolli, praised the key role of the Police Union in protecting and advancing the rights of its members, emphasizing the importance of building a safe, professional and dignified environment for all law enforcement officers.

    Addressing the delegates and attendees, the elected president, Avdi Hoti, expressed gratitude for the trust given and emphasized that this Assembly is a clear testament to internal union democracy and unwavering commitment to the well-being of Kosovo Police employees.

    “We are aware of the challenges that affect not only the professional, but also the social and economic aspects of police officers. However, through organizing and strengthening the union voice, we will be committed to realizing their just demands,” Hoti emphasized, according to the Union’s announcement.

    “The Assembly closed in an atmosphere of unity and cooperation, with congratulations for good work and continued success for the new leadership bodies in their noble mission of representing and protecting the dignity of the Kosovo Police,” the announcement continues.

    Hoti will replace Izmir Zeqri.
