Hey everyone, just wanted to share my experience in Kutaisi that happened today, i’m a bit shaken about it and not sure I want to stay here.
I was walking down from Bagrati Cathedral towards the city at 8pm (it was still light out) and this guy in a silver car was asking if I need help, what’s my name, do i speak english, he can help me etc and would NOT LEAVE ME ALONE. He was driving slow next to me and pulled up multiple times, even after he drove off he did a loop and pulled up again at the bottom of Bagrati Street. I kept saying I don’t need help, I know where I’m going, then please go away and leave me alone multiple times. There was nowhere for me to go as it was a long road on a hill.
Just want to warn other solo female travellers about this. It’s my first solo trip and I’ve loved it so far (was in Tbilisi before) and this if the first time I’ve been harassed so I don’t know if i’m overreacting, I just don’t feel safe now.

There should be a law against these types of freaks
This is a common situation in Georgia unfortunately. Especially if you have blond hair and obviously looking as foreigner.

Please accept my apologies for this inconvenience. Unfortunately, there are a few people who harass tourists. When I was hitchhiking, men stopped their cars, one of them because they thought I was a tourist and after realized I wasn’t a tourist he left me on road. However, there are good men too. Please stay safe 🙏 and don’t let this cowards ruin your travels
Did you try filming him? It would probably make bugger off, knowing he is on camera
