> Research has revealed that over £3.77 billion in government contracts has been awarded to private companies since 2015 for managing border security and small boat crossings in the English Channel.
Money well spent, a strong argument for private contracts in public sector work.

Whos betting the companies are owned by friends/relatives of the people awarding the contracts!

Yeah the public sector definitely couldnt have done a better job of this, border control for small boat crossings is so efficient

£3.77 Billion for border “security” when anyone can jump on a boat and get an escort directly to British shores without a passport.
What a waste.

Always comes back to that same imitative question: “Cui Bono?” (Who benefits?)
In this case, as in every case, not you and not me.

People on here wonder why reform voters want a UK D.O.G.E

Ah well, Reforms plan to house thousands more immigrants indefinitely with huge numbers of guards will help reduce the cost.

If I’m playing devil’s advocate we actually don’t know what affect this has had. Maybe they’ve actually done a good job. That’s quite a timeline too.

I’m convinced if we follow the money we’ll find out why hundreds of thousands of unvetted men have been allowed to freely enter the country

This is what I’ve said from the start.
The whole thing can be regulated ALOT easier if people did their jobs on processing better.
There’s very little scrutiny on those making big £££ from this.

Quite simply this is the case for privatisation. No private company would stand for this but the public purse is milked accordingly. Which makes you ask: why is this now an issue when it wasn’t before? Who benefits? Quo bono?

I was going to comment “why doesn’t Labour promote our legal routes?” but then I read the article and learnt that we actually have ZERO routes for refugees to claim asylum that are 100% legal.

I think it’s fairly fucking obvious that the things that aren’t quite working are a result of the funding stream being siphoned off to somebody.
I just want to see _one_ white collar worker jailed. Just one. It can be a water exec or a spy in parliament — _just anybody._

Who’d want the borders fixed when it’s such a cash cow ?
Usual crap from public/private partnerships, watch out for politicians & relevant civil servants jumping ship into the private sector
