Iirc, when they were creating the black hole imagery for Interstellar they intentionally left it the fact that it was dimmer on one side (due to Doppler ~~shift~~ beaming). An artistic choice, mainly so people wouldn’t be questioning it in their heads and missing out of the story being told.
This is not a picture of a black hole. This is a picture of light around a black hole.
