The Kosovo Police Inspectorate (KPI) has recommended the suspension of a police officer in Suhareka, after he was caught driving his personal vehicle without registration since 2019.

According to the IPK announcement, investigators acted after receiving operational information that raised suspicions that the police officer in question was using an unregistered vehicle. After verifying the information, the officer was detained today by IPK investigators and during a documentation check it was found that the vehicle had not been registered for six years.

The Regional Traffic units in Prizren were also involved in the case, and they have taken the necessary legal action.

PIK has emphasized that it remains committed to strengthening the integrity of the Kosovo Police and has thanked citizens for their cooperation in addressing such cases.

Earlier today, the IPK also recommended the suspension of four other police officers in Suhareka. However, it is not known whether the cases are related.
