Exponential growth is scary and not easily graspable, and this rollout looks benign and even positive until too late. I think the geopolitical angle was the most fascinating to me – an arms race between US and China continuing to be the major motivator to loosen restraints.

The appearance of exponential growth is irrelevant, because narrow AI cannot be incrementally improved into AGI, and LLM inference is very firmly narrow AI.
Narrow AI, when improved, simply becomes *better narrow AI.*
