Day two of the Coyote Classic saw Malta and Fairfield boys and girls walk away with dominant wins.

SHELBY, Mont. – The Coyote Classic basketball tournament in Shelby is heating up with thrilling high school matchups.

The boys from Fairfield and Thompson Falls took to the court, with Fairfield Eagles dominating thanks to strong performances by Deron Lear and Reed Von Stein. Both players scored 20 points, leading the Eagles to a 63-47 victory over the Blue Hawks.

In the second game, the Fairfield and Thompson Falls girls faced off. The Eagles started slow but soon took control, soaring to a 64-28 win over Thompson Falls.

On the boys’ side, the Malta Mustangs and Florence Falcons met again, this time on the basketball court. Bohdi Brenden’s impressive 25-point performance propelled the Mustangs to a 79-47 win over the Falcons.

The day concluded with the girls’ teams from Malta and Florence, a rematch of last year’s state playoffs. Malta’s M-Ettes emerged victorious once more, with three players scoring in double digits, securing a 63-46 win over the Falcons.
