While I agree that AI is a potential threat, I think a greater threat is science denial.
Science is humanity’s greatest achievement, without which humans would still be living in caves – and dying in their 30s. Those who reject science are an existential threat to human society.

AI is just part of the main threat which is people are losing their critical thinking skills and desire to explore and understand things to a deeper level. Which people have always said throughout history, but with AI it’s different.
As a kid, I was obsessed with sci-fi and what the future could being. I also believed in transhumanism, especially as someone born with a life-long condition.
However, growing up and seeing how governments and corporations will abuse and exploit people and the land has me nervous.

Don’t disagree. Like many technological advances, it’s being created before anyone can understand what it could be used for. If it keeps developing like it is unchecked in any way, it could really put us in a pinch before we even realize it.

Biggest threat is that there are too many of us in a world of diminishing resources.
