I thought they went fully bust. Didn’t know they were going to pop back up again, or that it was even possible to do so.

Sounds like how I inexplicably found a ‘Game’ in the back of a Sports Direct.

17 locations, do you reckon they’re all airports? Can’t wait to see the guy trying to get his duty-free Lego Millennium Falcon in the overhead locker

Toys R Us and Blockbuster bringing the 90s boys back from the dead, whens woolies coming back

Makes sense really. Smith’s will have more shelf space to play with as their market has dried up a bit with the rise of digital and whilst they already have a small toy section, having the TRU name attached to it will draw customers in

Two sinking ships lashing themselves together in an attempt to stay afloat…

    7. These are all big stores that already have a toy section tucked away somewhere.

Sounds like Smith’s bought the name to remind the public the toys are there.

Except no one goes to any of these high street shops.

Toys R Us is all about a massive warehouse in which you could find every possible toy and play for hours, not a corner in shoddy WHSmiths.

The boomer’s high street is long dead, no idea why these companies insist on funding loss making endevours.

    9. So a dying brand has rescued a dead brand?

Next year will we see that GAME has bought out WHSmith and Toys R Us?

    10. There’s the main town post office in my local WH Smith. Still has a large magazine section too.

    11. WH Smith partnership? As if toys r us wasn’t already expensive enough. You’re gonna be needing to take out a mortgage to buy a bloody barbie

They’re missing that the magic of Toys R Us was an enormous store that was how you would imagine a toy shop

Not nestled in the back of the most depressing shop on the high street

    13. I still cannot believe that Smiths are still going: being kept afloat entirely by fleecing passengers at train stations and airports

It kind of works, the one in Solihull has been operational for. While now, on separate floors, likely WHsmiths stop selling their toys which are usually garbage, large sites half empty so more efficient use.
