    End of an era!

Thanks Gary for the many years of unforgettable moments.

    Shame it ended this way

Wonder who will replace him? I bet they’re all polishing their shoes and starching their clothes.

In the meantime, fully expect Lineker to do some mad Joe Rogan like Podcast where he invites footballers and that to talk shit for two hours.

Anyone else employed in the public sector would’ve likely been dismissed for similar so not surprising.

Still find it absurd that a TV commentator sharing a tweet that poses Zionist Jews alongside rats, before deleting the tweet and apologising once learning the historical context — *all while* said Zionist Jews commit genocide against an entire population, partially funded by Western countries — gets some people more riled up than the genocide itself.

The media in the U.K. is absolute poison and have perfected planting targets on people.

    Good.

He’s gotten off far too often for airing his political opinions and getting into online arguments, many of which would have seen anyone lesser be sacked years ago.

He works for a company that preaches impartiality, one of the bedrocks of the Beeb is to be politically neutral and keep your views mostly unknown.

He overstepped his boundaries, time and again.

This wasn’t just an isolated slip up, this was a flagrant charter breacher who finally went a bridge too far.

Edit: Sorry if that hurts your feelings, the reality is he kept breaking the rules over and over, this time he ignorantly didn’t do his research and posted something that hurt Jewish staff. Do you think he’s actually been to apologize to them personally? I doubt it, mans ego is far too massive.

Edit2: To the coward that told me to “Eff off” and deleted their post because they are too scared to stand by what they said, here’s my response to you.

-I’m not going to feel sorry for a multi-millionaire that’s been known to set up illegal shell companies to tax dodge and could not give a flying toss about anyone other than his own image.

There’s nothing about moral purity in that, he broke the rules over and over again, the Beeb bosses couldn’t defend him anymore. I just find it hilarious you’re calling out the Pedo issue of the beeb which we all know like it’s some kind of gotcha.

Clearly wasn’t enough of a problem to stop you watching MOTD or for Gary to avoid taking a big fat paycheque every month now was it?

Very disappointed with this. Not only just because I really enjoy his commentary, but because the BBC is very clearly siding with Israel here.

I found him to be increasingly arrogant in recent years, often belittling other pundits whilst passing it off as a joke.

I mean, I already liked Lineker anyway, but this whole thing has made me respect him infinitely more.

Like Musk in the US, if your job is non political and you go hardcore political, it doesn’t matter what side you’re on, it will catch up with you.

Shame to lose a good entertainer but inevitable

  10. He’ll be okay he’s got a lifetime supply of walkers he can live off and at least a fiver in his pocket

  11. I didn’t always agree with him, but commend him for having a heart and the courage to speak up.

Fully expect him to be replaced by a yes-man.

He’s basically trying to martyr himself, right?

Had he apologised and moved on the whole ordeal would have been forgotten about in a few days (he was due to leave his BBC job in 6 months anyways). But now we have to spend days hearing about “Is saying _________ about Israel antisemitism” Part #42132342

  13. There won’t even be a world cup 2026 as the USA are supposed to host, but that shitshow is going to be a closed border nightmare, if it’s even still a country by then.

That’s a real shame for the BBC to lose a guy with his moral compass ❤️

About time! Pity he will always think he got one over on the network as well as the majority of the country after what he did! 100% he will continue as a freelance presenter and will most likely sign for TNT Sports and in the future Apple TV! Had alot of respect for him since the 80s, then we became woke and boring!

  16. He can now spend his time doing what he does best, lecturing us on how to take in more military age men who illegally enter the country.

Obviously the rat imagery is unacceptable. I didn’t know about it, but clearly you have to be responsible for the things you post online when you have a large platform.

It is a shame that this will overshadow Lineker’s wider message, and clearly it is much worse to be involved in/support the genocide of a whole people.

  18. Considering the viewpoints he’s publicly expressed I think he’s dodged a possible arrest and detainment.

  19. Bye bye.

Now he’s free to express whatever he wants, without a chance of damaging anything but his own image.
