It would be a welcomed collaboration.

JAXA landed their SLIM lander back in 2024 to get more data on the lunar surface and that is undoubtedly a part of a larger plan to hopefully evolve a strong lunar expedition and research division.

The Artemis missions currently rely on the old Constellation project’s SLS rockets from a bygone era and that will result in larger costs for an eventual launch date.

JAXA and NASA working together could lead to a more long-term favorable lunar research and expedition mission.
