Many places in Norway is like this. Over time the mountains have eroded and formed deltas in the valleys that are flat. People like living where it is flat and where they can farm, people live in the valleys.
Especially on the west coast like here you see this.

You sound like a Dane ready to steal some rocks to put in your garden for a bit of natural elevation, except you are looking at a much larger rock to take.
Dont live there but I’ve played matches on the football field to the right in the picture many times. A ball always ends up in the sea.
