      Because most norwegians are sheeps that follow the trend of what’s popular.

    2. FinancialSurround385 on

      Personally I bought one because it was the only option I found for storing both training gear and mac without it all being a big mess.

    3. I guess they just hit the right price/irony/design-spot. Next year it’s going to be something else.

    4. Cant say it looks familiar but id assume its waterproof and has a clean design

    5. I don’t get that either, so many options from different brands in the same price range that looks so much better imo.

    6. Percolator2020 on

      Because they’re douche bags. Funny how most people don’t realise how vulgar that actually is.

    7. We love using backpacks in general, and the design allows you to use it in formal settings like work, I guess.

      Norwegians all wear the same things, so if something is popular it will be very noticeable. It’s the same with Hoka shoes etc. Even cars, about half the cars on the road are white Tesla Model Y it feels like.

      Small homogenous population with a conformity culture.

    9. Reasonably priced, practical, looks good, comes in a variety of colours and models. And waterproof (at least some of the colours/models). Also surprisingly robust, and unless you really treat them badly they hold up very well over many years.

    10. Ive been wanting to get one. For me its the size, some models are waterproof which is very much needed and its not that expensive.

      I need a backpack that can store shoes, a big jacket, computer and my work lunch. This fits all of it with no issue.

      People goes to school for 13 years + university.

      There is a demand for backpacks that doesnt look like ‘school’ while not being hiking backpacks either.

      They are horrible. Can’t wait till people ditch these.
      And stop unironically wearing “fast” sunglasses 😅

    14. And once again, I realise I am completely out of the loop. Never heard of these, or noticed them anywhere.

    15. Norwegian. Plus the big pocket opening style is good I am told. Plus everyone always buys this one thing each year.

      Fashion here is short-lived, and trends change. I remember EVRYONE and your grandma wore 2XU tights, then it was Bumpro/gym shark or something. Then everyone had Brgn or Blæst rain ponchos. Same with shoes, seems like Veja is trending ATM. The Db bag is just in now – the marked before was heavily dominated by Fjellreven Kånken backpacks.

    17. Had mine since 2018 been a good quality backpack nothing to complain about it

    18. FatsDominoPizza on

      Thanks for asking something I also wondered about.

      Looks robust, big, and waterproof so I guess that’s part of the appeal (and it’s Norwegian).

    19. wyldstallionesquire on

      As a native English speaker the whole thing feels pretty juvenile, and the rebrand as D___ b____ irks me. It’s a backpack made by frat boys.

    20. nicoletaleta on

      Got it because I indeed saw many people have it and it’s very nice and spacious, comfortable to load from front like this + separate laptop pocket and very nice as a carry-on.

      I see a bunch of people writing here that everyone is conformist in Norway and “sheeple” but goddamn, if you find/hear about a really comfy backpack and you try it out and like it, why tf would you need to look for something else.

      Real “not like other girls” behaviour here

    21. Look at Norwegian/Scandinavian Architecture and Interior Design. In those fields, we are known for preferring aesthetics within the boundaries of optimized functionality. Look at how many “allværsjakker” multi-purpose hiking jackets you see everywhere: aesthetics within optimized functionality.

      Now look at the DoucheBag: massive storage, effective compartmentalisation, rigid structure that can house larger items while also pliable enough to push its limits and resist tear, excellent ergonomics. All while looking quite decent.

      The DoucheBag fits our preferences really well!

    22. memescauseautism on

      The way the whole front opens is very practical, it’s waterproof, you can buy it anywhere, it’s not unreasonably expensive. Mix that with some conformity culture and you have your answer.

    23. fareedadahlmaaldasi on

      Well, as far as I know, it’s waterproof. In Bergen, this is reasonable. As for the other places, I don’t know why.

    24. Most Norwegians have one of the following:

      * Fjellreven
      * Osprey
      * DB
      * Rains

      If you want a more urban, individualistic backpack from a boutique brand like Bellroy, Aer, Evergoods etc. you need to order it from overseas. Sometimes Nomaden, Chillout and Dapper have different stuff but it seems most people are happy using the same backpack everyone else has.

    25. By looking at it, I’d guess it’s for the pocket on top that makes your Kvikk Lunsj so accessible.

    26. Longjumping_Pride_29 on

      I’ve never heard of this brand or noticed this product in the street.

      But as a Norwegian I can tell you I wear backpacks a lot, and I like it to be both practical and sleek looking, and hopefully waterproof. This seems to check a lot of boxes.

    27. Expontoridesagain on

      My kid upgraded to a bigger one this year. It’s very durable and practical tbh. You can hardly see any marks on one that’s been in use for 3 years.

    28. I think they’re so ugly. At least I will not be assimilating to that part of Norwegian fashion. Now excuse me while I take my black rainproof Beckmann backpack that absolutely no one else has and go. /s

    29. Bought the Ramverk version unopened on Tise. Personally it’s for photography and work. But also it’s a reputable brand a Norwegian. Why everyone else is wearing them, Idk.

      The 2 year I went to high school (VGS) there were polo shirts, midtskille and the largest Db..

    30. Plenty-Advance892 on

      Got it as a gift once and I absolutely hated it, horrid organising options and a laptop sleeve that has no protection.

    31. Meanwhile, I’m here rocking a messenger-bag with a huge Danish flag on it.

      Go figure.

    32. I’ve got one from work. It’s got a large main compartment, a smaller one on top and a laptop compartment. No bullshit. It’s fairly waterproof, it fits underneath the seat in in front of you on an airplane, it’s perfect for weekend trips.

      Fashion or not, it’s sleek and practical, unlike most backpacks.

    33. Ignore the lazy contrarians in the thread. The backpack opens up to reveal its entire content like a damn video game inventory, plus every detail seems well thought out. It’s simply a highly practical backpack that also manages to look good.

    34. Intelligent_Rock5978 on

      I got mine because I needed a properly waterproof backpack to protect my laptop while I’m commuting to work in the heavy rain. I was recommended to get a protection cover, but those look silly, plus it’s an extra effort to use them. Most backpacks are just water-resistant, they still soak through in some of the weather we get here, especially around the zips. DBs are perfect for a heavy rain and has enough space inside to store my workout clothes too, while having a separate safe space for my laptop.

    35. As someone who has the ski bags from them the system has made every ski trip so much easier
