Somehow they’ll find a way to ignore this ‘obligation’ whilst defending paying Mauritius £30 billion to ‘meet obligations’.
It is indeed incredibly boring waiting for leaders with spines.
We’ve aided this and sat quiet until now, I feel so ashamed that the UK didn’t stand up to the obvious wrongs far, far sooner.
Even before the horrors of October 7th carried out by Hamas Israel was a cruel murderous colonial occupier conducting an apartheid, and still we sat by and aided them. We endlessly condemn, intervene and sanction other nations for doing a lot less, our double standers are for all to see and for countries like Russia to use against us.
What was left of any sort of international order has been tuned into a joke.

its such a farce.
we spent so long post WW2 setting up all these systems and protections, we had swift military action in eastern europe.
And now we have palestinians showing the world relentless proof, western doctors providing the most harrowing information, and israeli MPs constantly openly declaring intention of ethnic cleansing and starvation as a weapon; flouting every bit of order weve had the pretense of protecting. and we simply dont care.
Worse than that; as british diplomats are shot at and the red cross is blocked from providing vital aid; what do we do? Use the RAF in support of the IDF with spy and cargo flights, issue D-notices to papers, and have labour ministers pal about with disgraced diplomats at glitzy events.
All these systems have always been a bit loose, but even with afghanistan or our support of the saudis theres at least some sort of charade or pretense. Here there simply isnt.
Netenyahu openly broke down a ceasefire to get hostages back; and declares his intentions for ethnic cleansing over hostage return. The israeli press is clear about this. and yet our politicans and media class are pussy footing about. The second aid was blocked and the knesset openly declared intent to annex gaza we should have immediatley started discussions at the security council of using the UN to distribute aid and create humanitarian zones; not just shrug and pretend we aint involved.
International law: “Take in all the asylum seekers who picked the UK because it’s the easiest place to claim asylum and you get put up in a hotel and given free money in ways you just don’t anywhere in mainland Europe.”
UK: “OK.”
International law: “Give an island you own to Mauritius and pay them for the privilege”
UK: “OK.”
International law: “Sanction a country that’s committing literal war crimes”
