I mean yes and blatantly so – and so much worse than that.

But also… ‘not uncommon’ in the HoC, no?

  2. PositiveLibrary7032 on

I never thought I’d say this but after Johnson there is a bottom of the barrel.

thats rich coming from labour. its party first for every party, thats why the public are losing their minds

  4. To be fair, you don’t have to be a Labour supporter to see what Farage stands for , himself.

  5. I can’t believe it, an opposing party said something negative about their main rival who is dominating them in the polls? Stop the presses immediately! This is exactly the sort of story that Reddit rushes to upvote to the front page. How many Farage threads do you need a day?

And no, it’s utter bollocks and projection from Keir ‘flip flop’ Starmer. Nigel Farage is the most consistent politician in Westminster, broadly saying and campaigning for the same things since he first got into politics as a young man, becoming a founding member of UKIP, then an irrelevant minor party, and sticking with it and relentlessly campaigning even when it seemed like it never had a chance, until where he stands today – likely the next prime minister, and having likely accomplished the unbelievable feat of replacing the Tories, the most successful party in history.

Redditors continuously make the mistake of thinking that disagreeing with a politician’s views is the same thing as them being a dishonest grifter.

What has Farage done FOR the people of Clacton? Has he sat down with Beryl yet and helped her with her housing benefit? What has he actually achieved for the people aside fuelling division and hate?

Politicians only care about their own self-interest and personal ambition.

There you go, Labour. I fixed it for you.

The problem with this kind of attack is that it’s already priced into public perceptions of Farage. Like attacking Cameron for being posh or Boris Johnson for being a liar. Many people have already decided that all politicians are the same, and you might as well vote for the one who basically openly admits he’s going to make your life worse for personal gain.

  9. Of course he’s only in it for himself. That’s always been his objective, to further enrich his own personal wealth and status.
The man dodges accountability like the plague and seems to be given a megaphone more than any other politician with the same or more MPs

Everyone who cares about this knows already, and everyone who doesn’t care just doesn’t care.

And this is why he’s reportedly gaining young votes. It’s all bravado. He’s the rebel. Look at how he dresses more colourfully than everyone else. It’s the can do attitude. Not drab by the book Starmer who tells you life will get harder before it gets better. Labour are sleepwalking. This is not an Farage endorsement by the way.

They said the exact same thing about Trump, It did not impact the minds of his voters any more than this will impact the voters of greasy Nigel

Unlike other politicians of course who are selfless, caring, and always think of the bigger picture before their own expenses.

  14. OinkyDoinky13 on

Although this is true about Farage, I’d say the same about the entire Labour front bench.

  15. WELL DUR! Did we not fucking realise that when he stood in front of a bus with a big god damn lie plastered on the front of it grinning like the twat he is?

Have you been watching politics recently, that all they really care about

  17. Red_Laughing_Man on

I don’t think this is an untrue criticism of most modern politicians.

It would be really refreshing for a change if we could have some attack ads against Farage that actually have some substance behind them and actually stick.

For example criticising that the man has eventually thrown almost anyone politically near him who was successful under the bus (Rupert Lowe being the most recent example). This also being why he’s surrounded by a bunch of no name sycophants, rather than being able to make an effective shadow cabinet. That’s an actual criticism, and not something most party leaders do.

But no, we’ll just get to hear more attack ads about how he wants to privatise the NHS from the party that started parceling up the NHS from the party that started it (Labour) and the party that went hold my beer with it (Conservatives). If we’re lucky, we’ll even have the parties where huge swathes of the leadership went to Oxbridge critisize him as having an elitist background.

The continuing problem is people underestimate Farage.

He is serious and he is a threat.

Farage has tapped into the opposition toward excess in immigration that apparently many feel in the UK. The fact that people feel that way is down to the press, who highlight every crime committed by non white people. Add that to the growth of brown skinned insular populations in cities, the negative reporting around Islam, and you have a perfect recipe. Farage and his backers are the chefs.

‘Pope is a Catholic and bears defecate in forested areas’ says Labour

  21. Show me a politician who doesn’t. They all know their life in government is just a stepping stone into something bigger

  22. So exactly the same as any politician. Shocking. It’s not like Starmer lied just to get elected after all

He is a grifter and has been for at least twenty years. If you have not realised this yet then what hope do you have? Legitimate politicians are not doing Cameo birthday messages or going on I’m A Celebrity.

  25. Don’t suppose they have any opinions on the colouration of kettles, do they?

  26. And the Labour ministers who are actively covering up the Grooming Gangs scandal and not enacting an inquiry cus they know they are corrupt and implicated are different/better?

This is the biggest “Pot calling the kettle Black” I can think of in UK political history…. And thats saying something!

Never trust Nige. Simple as that. You can hold any other political opinion you want, but never trust Nige.

  28. Every politician cares about their own self interest and ambition. Even on the supposedly altruistic and socialist left, and especially Starmer.

The vast majority of people in your workplace only care about their self interest and ambition too. Such is life and the power game we all play.
