Does anyone else think he’s been pretending to have found god in an attempt to dodge these charges?
He’ll find a way of spinning this to his followers, something like “I realised I couldn’t win against the corrupt state so had to plea”.

He was charged by post last month with one count each of rape, indecent assault and oral rape, as well as two counts of sexual assault, relating to four separate women.
The allegations against Brand are said to have taken place against four women between 1999 and 2005.”
It’s worth noting that none of these accusations are the same as the ones from the Dispatchs Documentary/Times article.
It’s also not the same as the ones where he flashed a woman during his radio show and bragged about it on air, the woman he assaulted during the filming of Arthur in 2011, or the Masseuse he sexually assaulted in 2014.
Which should give you an idea of how many times he’s done this.

I can’t say this with many celebrities, but I can honestly say I never liked this guy from the start, even when apparently every undergraduate student across the country was lapping up his whole artsy intellectual schtick in ~2010.

He’s always said he was a sex maniac and it was always “consensual”. As someone who was raped when I was under the influence and as someone who raped someone else when they were under the influence, digging up the past like this is exactly the character assassination I would expect from someone who is speaking out against the establishment.
