Of course it is but it’s not just the option to return them to France. Before Brexit they could settle in Europe for a few years then come to the UK legally. I’m sure during that time quite a few probably decided to just stay in Europe after building a life. That’s no longer an option so those wanting to come to the UK now come straight to the UK.

They cross the channel from France, so they are blaming someone who doesn’t even share a land border with them for problems caused due to a lack of France’s own control of their beaches?

  3. Stop making phoney excuses. Our own government is to blame. Stop them in the channel and turn them around. If they make it here, detain and deport. It’ll stop in no time.

Yes, Brexit is the reason why French police are standing on the beaches callously watching disastrously overloaded dinghies sail off to their deaths.

The trouble is, we keep paying France to help out. When it doesn’t work, we pay them more. We’re throwing more and more money at them to do a bad job! Where’s the incentive to improve? How about fishing rights in exchange for stopping the boats?!

The French will blame brexit for the anything that is their own doing.

Battle of Waterloo? We lost that due to brexit.

Well it’s important they respect the will of the people isn’t it or what’s the world coming to?

It’s like divorcing your wife but still expecting her to cook and clean for you.

Before Brexit under the EU the UK could return migrants to the European country they originally came from or entered first, now that arrangement no longer exists. So Brexit is a problem with migration and we were all lied to that Brexit would cure all our problems, it just created more.

Yea it’s our fault you didn’t hold up your end of agreement which we paid for. Strip them of their fishing rights then they will act

Could you imagine still thinking Brexit was a good idea 😂.

Extricating ourselves from all the agreements where we could return these people created the market for them to come in the way they do. It simply wasn’t worth it before Brexit, but hey ho they “knew what they were voting for” so they knew this would happen. Seems odd to be upset at getting what you asked for.

Yes all the money the UK sends France to handle crossings , it all is the fault of Brexit and us….

  13. Ill_Refrigerator_593 on

    2019: Small boat crossings 1,843

    2020: Brexit

    2021: Small boat crossings 28,546

The 15 fold increase at the exact same time as Brexit was obviously a complete coincidence, how could giving every failed asylum seeker across Europe a second chance to apply again in the UK have any affect?

  14. To be fair, if Britain didn’t exist, then they wouldn’t want to come here. So they’re right, from a certain point of view.

That is the view of a moron however.

I saw a video of the French police just watching the boats filling with people and sailing off towards England.

The fact is the French are probably happy to see them go. If I was them I wouldn’t try and stop the boats leaving either .

It’s clear that the main cause is the pull factors of the Uk , the lack of consequences and no chance of being sent back . Not brexit . These are economic migrants looking to take advantage of the UK . It’s that simple. It is almost all young males arriving from the safe nation of France. Not refugees at all.

They will never stop until the uk government grows a spine and stops letting them in .

  16. So what France is trying to say is, anyone who voted for brexit is a dumb gullible cunt?

  17. LazyScribePhil on

Before Brexit they stowed away in trucks. Now the trucks get checked and we tore up the agreement to process claims in Calais so of course Brexit is why they’re now using boats.

They’re just showing red rags to a bull at this point to cause drama, lowkey love the french for this.

The right wing are gonna shit themselves raging.

It’s a tunnel, it’s easy to control a tunnel of migrants.

The issue was a about the fishing waters near Scotland, France wanted a piece of the pie,, UK said no.
