Fair enough . He obviously values it, has had an impressive career and helped us get the Olympics.

Honours should be going to those who value them more than people that don’t care

Beckham, aged 50, will be sent to Lordran to ring the bell of awakening next week, in the hopes of linking the fire to continue this age, lest it be extinguished by darkness. It’s reported the retired football player will be using a two-handed sword, with hopes of acquiring the Ring of Havel, so they he is able to dodge effectively in heavy armour.

Not sure why. he is so self interested – not really knighthood material.

I just feel for the many who’ve strived tirelessly in their field and fail to get the recognition they deserve
    The unsung and unrewarded

  5. God, pisses me off that the likes of Tom Baker have only just gotten an MBE, but fucking Beckham is getting a knighthood.

  6. Isn’t this guy in Quatari pockets being paid millions to be an ambassador? Knighting him is disrespectful to LGBTQ*, women and human rights.

Edit: I know the whataboutism fallacy is alluring but come on people. Pointing out that Knighting Beckham is controversial doesn’t mean I endorse the UK government’s foreign policy.

When the aliens are sifting through the rubble of the lost civilisation that will be us, they will find no better emblem of life in 2025 than David F’ing Beckham. The vanity, the pointless accumulation of money, the talentless but wealthy wife, the endorsements, more endorsements, more endorsements. Give him his Knighthood. I’m sure he’ll find a way to monetise it.

  8. He was pretty good at football, but why is this a long overdue knighthood exactly?

Goodness, all the years of being a sycophant has finally paid off. Lost my respect for him over Qatar

Fair enough. He’s been twerking for a knighthood since he scored that penalty against Argentina.

Chaz finally put him out of his misery lol

    For what ?

    * wouldn’t say he has been englands best or most consistent performer
    * He left England during his footballing career
    * has set up a team in America
    * promoted the World Cup for the Middle East
    * avoided tax

Outside of being really famous, and good at football, is there a more specific reason ?

  12. I hope everyone continues to call him David without the SIR, that’ll annoy him more than not getting knighted 😂

Until we start requiring Knights to go about on horses rescuing maidens fair, it’s just letters in front of and behind your name.

  14. He has been licking boot hard for years I’m surprised he has a tongue left.

I would never give him one if I were king, just to spite and taunt him. I know he does a lot for sport and people still look up to him, however it would just be a fun little part of being king.

If war breaks out I expect all these Knights to be leading the troops into battle

Loved him for England as a kid but my respect for him has fallen off a cliff the past few years. Self-serving, arrogant flag-shagging prick. All he cares about is money and attention.

Can’t even imagine the levels of smugness we will see from him and ‘Lady Beckham’ 🤢

  19. MariusBerger832 on

I remember when knighthoods meant something now they are handed out like confetti..

  20. DunkinBannatyne on

He doesn’t deserve it. But kudos to his PR team for getting the job done.

  21. He’s begged enough for it, maybe now he can fade away into obscurity because he’s been irrelevant for over a decade or more.

  22. Artichokeypokey on

Yeah, lads earned it both because of sports and as basically an ambassador
