“Hill had been due to leave the White House to return to Brookings in April 2019. She developed a close working relationship with National Security Advisor John Bolton,”

Remind me why a failed american diplomat is dictating to us on war policy.

addendum; One of three external reviewers for the strategic defense review, with General Sir Richard Barrons and Lord Robertson of Port Ellen.

I would be very cautious about listening to the likes of these *courtiers* of the british state.

Whats with all these MP’s trying to stoke up war recently? Is there another scam brewing that they can skim public funds from?

The US was never a reliable ally.

It only joined WW2 when the Japanese wiped out their fleet.

They let Plastic Paddies donate to the IRA.

And in fairness, we weren’t all that reliable. We refused to go to Vietnam.

As for Russia, it’s bullshit. They blame us for wiping out their bombers because they too embarrassed to admit it was the Ukrainians, and because they don’t want to blame Trump.

We have been in a proxy war with Russia ever since Putin came to power and it will carry on until he’s gone, the chance of them using nuclear weapons is very slim for many reasons but the chances of them using conventional weapons is becoming very likely, he wants to test the reaction of European unity then what better way to test the waters

Russia is so broken now. Putin is sitting in the centre of a rotting corpse. The threats of war against the UK are pretty hollow. Russia is a broken shell of a country now. As it weakens Ukraine strengthens and becomes ever more capable of destroying Russias creaking war machine. There is no war with the UK other than UN an abstract sense.

No shit…americans have never been an ‘ally’ full stop, why’s it taken them that long to realise this.

We’ve been at war with Russia for years through various proxy wars

I think the nuclear and chemical attacks from years ago clearly have shown that

  9. Their really not, they can’t handle Ukraine, these headlines are just scare mongering people but anyone with a brain can see its all BS, we aren’t going to war but they’ll gladly spend more money on bombs etc instead of feeding the people of this country, absolutely disgraceful…the moment Russia goes to war with the UK, they go to war with Nato

Since Trump signed the minerals deal, aren’t we just protecting American investments

And yet labour backbenchers think we should not commit too much GDP to the military as it could damage public services 🫠. Well there won’t be any public services if it’s been blown up or seized.

  12. Wasn’t Hill going on about how much better it was to be a Yank as recently as last year?

Why is our government taking advice from someone with such mixed loyalties?

No they’re not , we’re all still just doing normal working class poor people shit , and when the time comes I ain’t dying for the oligarchs who wouldn’t even give me a crumb if I was starving

Nah. In typical British Capitalism style, we outsourced the war to Ukraine

Why is this news? It’s been obvious Russia’s been at war with the UK and Western European countries for the past decade.

It might be asymmetric and hybrid warfare, but it’s war none the less. We should be retaliating in kind, and to a degree we are with our support of Ukraine.

Facebook relationship would say ‘it’s compicated’. Can’t say we’re at war but clearly adversarial. If you want to push it though the use of nerve toxins on British soil that killed British Citizens could be seen as an act of War. But it’s not got to that.

  17. The UK and US should be throwing money and arms at Ukraine.

A couple of hundred billion and Russia could crumble without the loss of single UK or US life. Russia, after serious losses, have adapted to the new style of warfare and will be battle hardened if they were to go after a Baltic state.

If we don’t stand up to Putin, Ukraine will never forgive us and dark clouds will form over Europe.
