I am a Muslim Meskhetian and I am trying to find out more about my paternal village. Some people are able to find their old Georgian surnames through their village name and history but no matter where I look or who I speak to my village is shown as desolate and its history/surnames are not known. I know from direct family that obviously we are descendants of people from that village but I can never find out anything about it. If someone can help or point me in a direction where I could learn more that would be amazing

So the village Tutajvari (თუთაჯვარი) [41.692171,42.904194](https://www.google.com/maps/place/41%C2%B041'31.8%22N+42%C2%B054'15.1%22E/@41.6904179,42.8862565,16318m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m4!3m3!8m2!3d41.692171!4d42.904194?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDYwOC4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D) is a deserted village which is located 1,4 KM SSE from the village Kikineti (ქიქინეთი) in Adigeni municipality. It has been deserted since 1944 when all of its population was forcefully relocated to Central Asia. In the Georgian Agricultural Census of 1923 [http://pop-stat.mashke.org/georgia-ethnic-loc1923.htm](http://pop-stat.mashke.org/georgia-ethnic-loc1923.htm) the village (which is mentioned with its other name Tsqurta-Jvari) has 137 inhabitants all of whom are ethnic turks. It was in fact the only ethnic Turkish village in the Adigeni municipality in 1923. So that might be the reason why you weren’t able to find any information on the Georgian surnames of the village. The only way I can think of getting more information about this village is to go to the National Archive of Georgia, but I am not sure how much they will be able to help you.
