While humanoids are [just taking their first tentative steps](https://www.technologyreview.com/2025/05/06/1116108/why-the-humanoid-workforce-is-running-late/) into industrial applications, the ultimate goal is to have them operating in close quarters with humans; one reason for making robots human-shaped in the first place is so they can more easily navigate the environments we’ve designed around ourselves. This means they will need to be able to share space with people, not just stay behind protective barriers. But first, they need to be safe.

  2. enforcing software within the hardware and not a third service that require an internet connexion that shares your personnal data, videos of your house, conversations etc etc seem a very basic requirement

i don’t want a spy-bot that gaslight myself into buying a specific oven brand, that look and share my debit card infos or my health data just by looking at it at 3am when i forget to put them outside his view – worse if you have young kids

maybe i’m optimistic but i don’t see Humanoid robot being mainstream until they are fully local – and i hope there will be heavy regulation on this

  3. Someone should come up with a few hard coded rules or laws that all robots should have to follow.

Three seems like a good number.
