    I arrived at my dorm and see I have this type of port.
    I was wondering what type of router I need to purchase, and if there is some store I can go to to ask more questions and purchase it there instead of online?

      Is internet access included in your dorm contract? If so you don’t need a router.

      I don’t know your exact dorm situation. If it is a dorm by the Studierendenwerk normally internet is included. You can plug a Ethernet Cable in there and then in your PC for example. For Wireless You will need an access point.

      You can just try plugging in an ethernet cable and see if you have internet access. Or you can ask someoene from admin how it works. Should also be specified in your contract or on the website or somewhere.
