  1. While the US government cuts funding to NASA……

I know about the Russian assets, but has anyone questioned the Chinese assets? They’re certainly getting a lot out of the current situation in the USA.

Space the one frontier where humans, regardless of nation, work together. Go, humanity!

Space the final frontier. It’s fascinating how international the race has become!

  4. China’s lunar lander plans are basically Apollo with the name crossed out. It’s not some giant reusable skyscraper, it’s a little two-man lander that looks like a fat spider. It’s all the same steps as Apollo, leaving the command/service modules in lunar orbit with Michael Collins while the smaller lander heads to the moon. Then only the top half takes off again, leaving the lower half on the moon forever next to the flag. It’s all exactly the same as Apollo.

The main difference is they don’t have a Saturn V to launch it all in one go. They’re going to do two launches and join them in Earth Orbit (which was one of the early plans for Apollo NASA considered and decided against). They’re testing a new rocket for this, the Long March 10, which is clearly a copy of the Falcon Heavy with the name crossed out.

It’s not the most original approach but it’s got a much higher chance of success than the insanely complex Artemis 3 plan which is almost certainly going to be delayed and delayed and have the budget cut.
